Shang-Chi Actor Simu Lui in Netflix New Anime Title Bright: Samurai Soul – TheDeadToons

Bright: Samurai Soul, a samurai anime movie based on 2017 Netflix’s live-action Bright, starred Will Smith and Joel Edgerton will be released on October 12 this year. Netflix describes Bright(2017) as:

In an LA rife with interspecies tensions, a human cop and his orc partner stumble on a powerful object and become embroiled in a prophesied turf war.

Crew and Cast Of The Movie:

Studio Arect is producing the anime Bright: Samurai Soul in the direction of Kyōhei Ishiguro. At the same time, Michiko Yokote is scripting the series. Atsushi Yamagata is responsible for character design.

However, Netflix has only revealed the cast of 3 characters. Yuuki Nomura as Izo, Daisuke Hirakawa as Raiden and Shion Wakayama as Sonya. These are the Japanese voice of the characters.

As for the English dub, Fred Mancuso will voice Raiden, and Yuzu Harada will be the voice behind Sonya. Most notably, Simu Lui is the voice of Izo. Known for his work in Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings.

What Is Bright: Samurai Soul And Where To Watch It?

It’s a spin-off anime adaptation of 2017 Bright. After not so good performance of the movie, Netflix announced a sequel and an anime. The anime movie is set in 1860’s Japan, which will revolve around a human Izo the Ronin, and an orc Raiden. However, to escort a young elf girl Sonya to her homeland, they will have to work together. Netflix describes the movie as:

In the early years of Japan’s Meiji Restoration, a human ronin must unite with an orc assassin to save an elf orphan from their common adversary.

Since anime movie is titled a Netflix original, it will only be available on Netflix and not on any other OTT platform. The spin-off movie Bright: Samurai Soul will officially join Netflix’s library on October 12th 2021.
